Harrison Duffle Bag is a premium upgrade to your average duffle bag. Is this really worth buying? and why does it got suspended by Kickstarter?
We will tell you everything in this short review.
The duffle bag, or kit bag, is designed to be small and handy for any outdoor activities. It is widely used as a gym/sports bag to keep the valuables within your reach. While they are a myriad of duffle bags in the market, some duffles are designed for the specific use. For instance, my favorite classic canvas duffle (Amazon) has many pockets and is almost like a mini luggage for your short weekender’s runaway.
That said, why Harrison Duffle Bag then?
What exactly is this bag?
Harrison Duffle Bag is a new functional duffle that features a 15″ laptop padded sleeve — which is something lacking in most other duffle bags. Not too many pockets, Harrison comes with just a right number of pockets (including a shoe’s compartment) which are enough for your daily gym session, cafe coffee time, office grab-n-go, and even for a short weekend trip.
The inside is spacious and well-organized.
There are compartments for shoes, clothes, laptop, and tablet. The front easy access pocket is handy for house keys, smartphone, and other small items. There are also 6 mesh pockets on the main compartment for socks, shirts, and ties.
What about the material?
The fabric material is using a durable Frostic Nylon with has the water-resistant properties, including the waterproof zipper, to keep your belongings away from wet. This bag made your office-to-gym transition a breeze.
Review and Discussion – Should you spend money to get this “new” duffle bag?
Take a quick search on the search bar above, you will find that bag is never a scarcity here.
Most other duffle bags are designed to be too sporty (too spacious + lack organization). End up, all your stuff like the phone cable, charger, wallet, sunglasses, clothes are all crammed into one big compartment for good. This is often how my sunglasses got scratches in my duffle bag.
This Harrison Duffle Bag is certainly minimalistic, well-organized and comes with a number of good features to save your day. The design, however, is monotoned and dulled. In this campaign, the creators are offering only one design with different color options which did not show on the campaign page. It’s asked to choose your colors after the campaign ended. For this, perhaps, they can put up more design/colorway options showcase on the page for backers to judge.
Here is a similar duffle bag I found on Amazon for less than half the price. To me, it has good reviews, good ratings, comfortable cotton canvas, well-compartmented and a big 50L capacity (Harrison is having only 32L).
Each Harrison Duffle Bag is now funding on Kickstarter starts at a price of $69 (early bird) and the City Duffle starts at $59 (early bird). Considering we can get most good-quality average duffles on Amazon for less than $50, the price is certainly higher than expected.
